Colorado elopement in the san juan mountains

All-Inclusive Colorado Elopement Package

An all-inclusive elopement package for couples who:

  • Want to keep the focus on each other, and really just enjoy some beautiful views!
  • Tend to push formalities to the side, and instead make room for the things and the people [and sometimes pets] that matter most.
  • Opt for intentional memories rather than the cookie-cutter “traditional” mems because cha-cha slides, and bouquet tosses aren’t really your thing.
  • Fell in love while adventuring, so it only makes sense to stay on brand.. amiright!?

If you nodded your head ‘yes’ when reading ANY of these bullet points, you’ll want to keep reading…

Located in the Southwest corner of Colorado [Durango, Ouray, Telluride], Mountainesque Weddings has truly captured the essence of the phrase ‘Adventure Elopement Planner’. A phrase still somewhat new to this part of the country.

What is an ‘Adventure Elopement Planner’ you might ask? A planner that understands not every wedding has to be a large production, a planner that knows how important intention is rather than simply tradition and a planner that screams, ‘YES’ , when you bring new and fun ideas to your celebration.

Mountainesque has made it their mission to provide an elopement experience unlike any other; by combining the planning aspects with other frequently requested items that let’s face it, an elopement photographer alone can’t provide.

We have partnered with 5 other rad adventurous vendor types, to bring you an all-inclusive elopement package.

Aside from planning your day, this package provides:

  • Bridal Hair + Makeup services
  • Farm Fresh Bouquet(s) and/or Boutonniere(s)
  • Carefully Curated Picnic Set-up for your afternoon celebration
  • A Deliciously Baked Cake or Dessert to enjoy at your picnic
  • A Bottle of Bubbly for ‘cheers’ ing of course
  • Bluetooth speaker for a romantic first dance in the mountains

AND of course a planner who scouts the perfect location for it all, coordinates timelines, transportation, vendor logistics, and ensures that your day is as special as the person you are about to marry!

Much like your day, this package was intentionally designed to save you time and money [which is probably one of the reasons you are choosing to elope.]

We weren’t kidding when we said “all-inclusive”. It’s a one click experience that is customizable to your unique story, and we can’t wait to create this for you!

Still questioning whether or not this type of celebration is right for you?

Here is a list of FAQS and answers that might help you organize your thoughts.

1. We would prefer an adventurous elopement day, but still want to share it with our families. Is that still considered an elopement?

Answer: Yes. This is probably the #1 asked question from couples who are contemplating an elopement. Mountainesque considers up to 10 guests as an elopement. This might be your parents and siblings, or just a group of your closest friends. It’s normal to want a few familiar faces to witness your special day.

2. Does an adventure elopement have to include a long hike in order to get to the ceremony site?

Answer: Only if you want it to. 85% of our couples prefer a drive-to location where they can simply enjoy the views without breaking a sweat. Especially if you plan to invite a few guests, convenience is key. Our team has a long list of hidden gem locations, perfect for whatever adventure you seek.

3. What does a typical elopement day look like?

Answer: The best part about an elopement is the freedom to do whatever you want. Most couples prefer a dreamy location for their ceremony, followed by a intimate picnic, and possibly an outfit change for a favorite activity they enjoy together. We’ve seen everything from hiking, paddle boarding, to horse-back riding and kayaking. This day should 100% reflect the two of you.

4. How do we tell our family members and our friends that we don’t want a large wedding?

Answer: Everyone has a different idea on what a wedding should be. By making the decision to elope you must accept this, but also accept that you can’t make everyone happy. As you break the news that you want to elope, make sure you’re sharing from your heart the reasons you want to skip a big wedding. Tell them why a traditional wedding with lots of guests isn’t the right fit for you and explain what eloping is. It might not make sense to your family, but if they hear how excited you are and that you’re sure it’s the right thing for you, they may accept it more easily.

5. Do we need to hire an officiant for our elopement?

Answer: In the state of Colorado, the answer is no. You can ask a friend or family member to marry you OR you can self-solemnize (marry yourselves)! Our couples choose 50/50 on whether or not they marry themselves vs. have an friend/family member read a script. It depends on the elements you are wanting to include in your ceremony. It can be nice to have someone there reading from a well thought-out script. OR it can be nice to simply recite your vows.
